Governors are responsible for:

  1. Ensuring clarity of vision, ethos and strategic direction;

  2. Holding the headteacher to account for the educational performance of the school and its pupils;

  3. Overseeing the financial performance of the school and making sure its money is well spent.

All governors have full voting rights unless the vote is with regard to an issue where the governor has a pecuniary interest.

The Full Governing Body comes together approximately ten times each year. Its activity is guided by the Department of Education's Governance Handbook and the College's ethos, values and priorities.

In May 2013 Ofsted identified that Governors' enthusiasm and determination have contributed to the growing success of the school.
